Saturday 30th June saw Swindon Climate Action Network join the Old Town Festival parade on our bikes to promote the transport campaign (Bus it, bike it, walk it). (See also the Swindon Adver's report of the day)
Shortly before the parade set off, we were joined by Professor Crump on his stilts and extremely tall bike. We've never met him before, but he was most welcome as he sang the praises of cycling to the onlookers all through the parade.
When the parade ended at the Lawns, the mayor presented prizes for the best three groups in the procession.
There was some confusion when he announced that the third prize went to the "Swindon Change Network", but we soon realised that he meant us!
Meanwhile at the SCAN tent, one of many tents and stalls run by various community groups...
... Andy explained over the PA system...
... that the grown ups could calculate their carbon footprint...
... while the kids were kept entertained by a colouring competition.
