Minutes of the Swindon Climate Action Network Annual General Meeting, held at 7:30pm on Wednesday 8th June at Friends Meeting House.

Present: Andy, Steve, Simon S, Helen, Deb S, Simon B, Viv, Gemma, Suze, Mally

Apologies: Gerry, Edward, Adrian, Richard

All officers and committee members resigned their posts at the start of the meeting and Simon Smith was elected to chair the AGM.

The minutes of the 2010 AGM were reviewed. A note was not made on the day of the names of all attendees, however it was noted that Richard Pagett was also present.

Viv Dipper presented the treasurer's report, which was accepted.

Steve Litchfield presented a review of SCAN's activities during the year 2010 to 2011.

The following officers were elected:

Steve Litchfield - Co-ordinator

Andy Parsons - Co-ordinator

Viv Dipper - Treasurer

Edward Glennie - Secretary

In addition the following committee members were elected:

Adrian Read - Publicity

Deborah Schofield - E Digest

Simon Bridewell - IT technical co-ordinator and minutes secretary

Helen Baldwin - Stalls co-ordinator

Gerry Hannon - without portfolio

Simon Smith - without portfolio

The film 'The Turning Point - a return to Community' was then shown. This is a 40 minute film recently released by the Findhorn Ecovillage in Scotland which looks at innovative and practical ways to reduce dependence on fossil fuel, based on the Ecovillage. It has been described as "an inspiring look at our potential to create a life sustaining society as we face the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change."
