Onshore and offshore wind power is set to grow rapidly and make up the majority of the 2020 renewable energy target. Biomass and marine power will become increasingly significant. This talk will give an overview of the renewable power sector up to and beyond 2020 in light of the awaited government’s Renewable Energy Strategy. The deployment, state of technology and likely future growth of major contributing technologies will be presented as will a vision of the overall future energy mix along with necessary actions to make it a reality.
