TRANSITION SWINDON FOOD NETWORK EVENT

YOUR INVITATION

You are warmly invited to Transition Swindon’s first food network event – a chance to help shape a positive future for Swindon:

Date and Venue TBC

Helen Browning, champion of local organic farming and Food and Farming Director for the Soil Association, will be speaking about the challenges of increasing access to locally produced food.

The invitation list includes more than 50 local food producers and retailers, community groups, SBC, and local and national organisations, who will come together to share views, raise issues and, we hope, start to build a network that will become a core part of Swindon’s plan to descend from Peak Oil.

Discussion themes will include:

·      current and future capacity for local food production

·      increasing awareness and uptake of local food, including food poverty

·      reskilling communities to increase confidence in growing your own

and bring your own questions to the table.

 Please join us:

Transition Swindon is being launched to begin to build a community that is resilient to the impacts of peak oil and climate change.

Transition means a positive and proactive change: towards a future where we have increased local food and energy supplies, reduced pollution and rebuilt communities.
