In Town Without My Car - Win a Bike

SCAN and Swindon Borough Council are launching a campaign to encourage people to travel to work without their car.

It is vital that we reduce car use in order to reduce our carbon footprint. 42,000 of the cars on the road in Swindon are doing a commuter journey within the town. Short town journeys are particularly heavy on fossil fuels and can be the most easily replaced trips.

We are challenging people to try not using their car to get to work for 5 days, not necessarily in the same week. The choices might be cycling, walking, taking the bus or sharing a lift. Anything which reduces the carbon emissions in comparison to the sole driver car commute.

We understand that this might not always be straightforward, so we are asking you to log how you got on and feedback any good or bad things about the experience. By logging your 5 days you will be eligible to enter a prize draw. There are two bikes as prizes.
